  I also would like to point out that this model has Vibration Reduction Technology-- but I am not sure what is reduced, my washing machine vibrates LIKE CRAZY. (BTW, this washer comes with protective blocks screwed to the back of them that you have to take off. When I complained about the vibrations they said to make sure those were taken off. I said, they were, and they basically said that's all they knew to tell me.)

  I did not buy this on Amazon, but I am trying to post as many places as I can so people do not waste their money buying this product. In just over 1.5 years of owning this washer we have had to have repairs done twice. The first for a broken door latch, and the second (still waiting for the part to arrive from overseas) for the rear outer tub bearing kit. When you add up both repairs, by the way not covered in the measly 1 year warranty, they total 70% of the ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE! I did all the checking with the national testing magazines etc.. and this was given a top rating. They are ALL DEAD WRONG on this. If AmEx did not have a great warranty plan which will cover the repairs it would be sitting on the curb as we speak. They know TV's NOT appliances!

  We purchased this washer and dryer summer of 2009. We should have googled it and read the reviews. We have had repairs on it 3 times already. First off the washer stinks!!! Its the rubber ring around the entrance. Two repair guys told me that was a common complaint and that often people get it replaced. This was 2 months after we bought it?! its been replaced twice! The soap container constantly leaks. This happened after the 3rd wash? right off the bat the dryer never dried completely. We were told it was our air ducts. We paid to get someone to come clean those and although the dryer did work better, it still doesn't not dry completely if its a large load. Yet, the washer is oversized for big loads??? forget about comforters, blankets and towels. Aside from that, the dryer has ruined drawstrings and thin garments. it catches on the filter &/or vents and twists in the dryer ripping or twisting until it is unwearable or just rips. the last repair guy told us he was always repairing these washer and dryers. We finally went back to sears to complain and the sales guys was honest with us and told us we had to deal with samsung at that point and that those were the most complained about washer and dryers. We are planning to get rid of these soon! As far as being effcient, the dryer is not!!! we have to run the dryer several times to dry the towels. As far as being quiet, these are not the quietest. My friends washers and dryers are quieter and they are not samsung. I am convinced that the positive reviews on here were made by people who work for samsung!! if i could i would rate no stars!! the only thing samsung has done is free repairs. They should just give us our money back.

  The only downfall of this machine that I've incurred is that the amount of time it takes for a steam or heavy wash is well over an hour. The `quick wash' is 45 minutes. That being said, this washer is able to hold so much more than the previous washing machine, it really isn't that big of a deal for us. I'm amazed at how quiet it operates as well. Its just fun to use.

  Although definitely not inexpensive, these machines are well worth the price considering the load of amazing features they utilize and the increased capacity of the washer and dryer drums. I'm very much looking forward to saving on our utility costs because of them! I would heartily recommend these beauties to my friends and family, and encourage anyone out there still on the fence to buy them with confidence!! I love them, and am confident if you read the manuals and use them properly you will too!!! =)

  Purchased this washer and matching electric dryer to replace brand new Whirlpool 9400 set we owned for less than 2 weeks. The Whirlpool washer vibrated so bad I spent hours getting it perfectly level to no avail. I even contacted Whirlpool who suggested that I re-inforce my laundry room floor with a seperate 3/4 inch thick sheet of plywood. My laundry room floor is on the 1st level, linolium covered 3/4 plywood set on 2x10 joists 16 inch centered. In other words, its quite solid. The washer had been setup professionally, shipping plugs removed, leveled. But when it went to high spin mode - watch out. It vibrated the entire 20x20 floor. The Whirlpool merchant agreed to take back the Whirlpool units and the wife and I purchased these Samsung units. The Samsung units were installed in the same laundry room without any modification to the floor. They work great. Extremely low vibration and noise. My house no longer shakes. The Samsung washer feet are different than the Whirlpool feet - the Samsung feet grip the floor like a gecko. Also, the Samsung washer incorporates "Vibration Reduction Technology" in all of its washers. This VRT combined with the grippy feet really work. The dryer works well also. Both units are very solidly built and aesthetically pleasing.
